This week at the Bovina Farmers’ Market town historian Ray LaFever will present Bovines of Bovina, a talk about Bovina's 19th and early 20th century farming history at 5 pm, Thursday, June 30 on Creamery Road.

In the latter part of the 19th century, Bovina became noted for the quality of its butter. Part of that success came from the breed of cow that farmers chose. LaFever will review the various breeds and how Bovina settled mainly on one in particular.
